Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

My cousin Jarad....

he was one of the kindest people I have ever met and so full of life.

Killed in a motorcycle accident just one week before his 20th birthday.

I will miss him dearly.

My condolences.

Usually when I talk about motorcycles with friends I always remind that probably every one of us knows someone that was killed in motorcycle accident.

When I was working in Angola, I invited a friend of mine to come also to work there. He thought a bit but decided not to go because he felt that it was too dangerous place. He died 2 months after, aged 28, on a motorcycle accident in Portugal.

A friend of mine just recently broke his arm when he was trying his new bicycle and he was not moving. Only fell to the floor badly because his shoes were attached to bike. It was I hope a big lesson for him because for years he drives motorcycle and speeds a lot.

These are just two examples. Examples that should be talked specially to those who are young and new to that war: roads can kill more that military wars.
